Public Choice

 In this book, Nicklas Nickel reviews mainstream economics’ approach to the study of “politics,” focusing on the most important studies of the “Public Choice Theory”.

As you will see after reading the book, economics-politics entanglement (entangled political economy) was dissociated from the jumping-off places of formation of political economy in the 18^th century.

This dissociation was of fundamental importance, especially to neoclassical economists. Accordingly, by virtue of that, conventional economics later examined “economics” as becoming increasingly separate from politics.

By sticking to this path, the “Public Choice Theory” has endeavored to apply the methodology and ontology of this science to the study of politics and social developments.

This book begins with the issues confronting the Public Choice Theory and then scrutinizes the contributions of each, in the first place, and their different intellectual and political traditions, in the second place, according to the Public Choice Theorists.

نیکلاس نیکل در این کتاب تلاش داشته تا با تمرکز بر مهم­ترین بررسی ­های “مکتب انتخاب عمومی”، مسیری که اقتصاد جریان اصلی در بررسی “سیاست” پیموده را مرور نماید. همانطور که پس از مطالعه کتاب خواهید دید، درهم ­تنیدگیِ اقتصاد و سیاست از آغازگاه ­های شکل ­گیریِ اقتصاد سیاسی، در قرن هجدهم گسستی پیدا کرده بود. این گسست، به ویژه نزد اقتصاددانان نئوکلاسیک اهمیتی بنیادی­ داشت؛ طوری که بعدها اقتصاد متعارف به تأثی از آن، “اقتصاد” را هر چه بیشتر منفک از سیاست بررسی نمود. “مکتب انتخاب عمومی” با وفاداریِ به این مسیر، تلاش نموده روش و هستی­ شناسیِ این علم را در بررسیِ سیاست و تحولات اجتماعی به کار گیرد.

او نیز در این کتاب ابتدا با مسائلی که مکتب انتخاب عمومی با آن مواجه بود آغاز کرده و سپس از خلال آراء نظریه ­پردازان انتخاب عمومی، ابتدا در مورد مشارکت ­های هر کدام و سپس در خصوص سنت ­های فکری و سیاسی مختلف­ شان در تدقیق بحث پیش رفته است.
